RHCSD Landscaping Update

Greetings all.

We would like to update the community on the current state of our landscaping in Stonebriar and Berkshire Parks, as well as the common areas along White Rock Road.  Our prior landscaping contractors informed us in early May that they would no longer be able to provide service to our community due to staffing, and thus gave a 30 day notice to end the contract, which then ended their service on June 9, 2025. As a result of this, we now must conduct a formal Request For Proposal (RFP) process in order to select a new contractor for this service. This actual process is rather involved, takes time, and has several steps that are required prior to selection of the new contractor and awarding of the contract. These incude announcement of the actual RFP, a site walk through for interested bidders, GM and Board review of the bids, and finally, selection/award of final contract. As this does require Board approval, it is discussed at the Board meetings and thus also takes time to work through that approval. We expect to release this new RFP shortly after our upcoming July 15th Board meeting, thus beginning the actual RFP process.

In the interim, our General Manager had already begun the process of sourcing/interviewing, and site walk throughs, for a month to month landscape contractor to maintain the grounds until the permanent choice is made. We expect to select this entity at our July 15th Board meeting, after which they will begin to address the long grass, weeds, and other areas that have not had the attention that they should have been receiving.

On a somewhat related grounds keeping note, we have had several dead trees that were a concern in the comunity, removed in the past few weeks, as well as an initial clean up of the Summerfield culvert, so progress is being made there. That culvert area is our main focus this year, and additional clearing and brush removal will occur when we can get on the schedule again with our contracters that are attending to that area.

We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the current landscape contract issue.

Please contact us using the "Contact Us" button,  with any additional questions or concerns you may have in the community. Also,  if you have interest in volunteering in a given capacity, please complete a volunteer form that can be found in the "Applications & Forms" dropdown. Please state any areas of interest or expertise that you have.

Thank you!

Your RHCSD Board and General Manager.
